LOP is distilled from a session project that started in 2015 with a varying number of participants and style figures / influences. After the several free sessions, a small group of 4 'die-hards' on guitar, keys, drums and bass stayed on it. Under the working title R.D.H.D. they started writing composition and arrangements of the musical sketches.
A change in occupancy occurred in mid-2017. Both drummer and keyboard player left the company and were replaced by new blood: Los Otros Pendejos was born! The concept of the Pendejos also has a surprise element: guest musicians will be invited to play one or more concerts on a regular basis. The first guest, who has also played the very first gig of the band, is saxophonist Frank Stolwijk! He will be our regular guest for the time to come.
The pieces they bring are strongly inspired by jazz, rock and funk sounds as they came from the America's in the late '70s and early 80s. A time in which most members in the band have their musical roots. All this is larded with contemporary and not always very complicated melodies and regularly some wilder pieces: they like to use the improvisation and dynamics that a combination of styles can produce.
Guitarist Deek is a versatile Cabron and a gifted musician. He is responsible for most of the themes, and tries to restrain the rest of the Pendejos in the musical arena. Has shown his strength in various bands, such as 'De Theezakjes' and 'Dodge This', and gained a wealth of experience.
Cabron Frank - aka Don Philippo - has provided a variety of serious to clownish acts with his phenomenal piano playing. De Don enjoys the harmonious trips and grolls that make his contribution so characteristic. In addition to a dedicated musical accompanist, an insane soloist. Those who know the 'Darmstadter Hubsch' or 'Ask Evans' can confirm this!
Sander is the Cabron that makes his drum grooves available and is the engine of the pack. He combines his unashamed energy and imagination with a great sense of functionality and humor. A joy to play with and to listen to, he has proven in 'Ninnyhammer' and 'Dodge This' for example.
No engine without fuel: Cabron Hans delivers that. He prefers to play barefoot, his great strength is the rhythm, and has a weakness for jazz rock from the seventies and eighties. Has been playing jazz, funk, rock and pop since the mid-1980s. A lover of his own funk work, like in '20 Brothers' and older jazz as in 'Quasimono'.
